The CSSFF-SAMRC Internship Training Programme is a 6-month contract partnership aimed at building a skilled African workforce in biopharmaceutical manufacturing. This program supports the development of Africa's health and biotechnology sectors by training candidates in vaccine manufacturing. Successful applicants will gain foundational lab-based skills, covering essential processes in up- and downstream biopharmaceutical manufacturing. This internship, based in Cape Town, may extend by an additional 4 months depending on individual performance and learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical laboratory-based skills
• Learn biopharmaceutical manufacturing processes
• Prepare research reports
• Organize and manage data effectively

Qualifications

• BSc or Honours degree in microbiology, biochemistry, or a related field relevant to biopharmaceutical manufacturing
• Interest and some knowledge of biopharmaceutical manufacturing
• A brief motivation (300 words max) on how this program aligns with career goals and why the applicant is suited for the role
• Computer literacy
